Boys Will Be Boys & Embossed Aluminium Foil

May 20, 2015

This is the card I made for my son’s birthday last month – I bought the stamp set thinking it would be great for cards for my young nephews, but my older teenage son loved this! This was another fold over window card like the one in my previous post. The inspiration for this style of card came from Dawn Olchedske’s video.

Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black
Stamp Pads: Memento – Black
Stamps: Boys Will Be Boys, Itty Bitty Banners
Other: Framelits – Ovals Collection & Bitty Banners, aluminium foil, cogs embossing folder (non-Stampin’Up!)

Fold Over Window Card and Mossy Ferns

May 18, 2015

A couple of last month’s class cards. I used the fern stamp from the Butterfly Basics set (I love this set; it is so versatile) and three generations of stamping to get the right effect for this card – a quick and easy card but very effective:

Card: Naturals Ivory, Mossy Meadow
Stamp Pads: Mossy Meadow
Stamps: Butterfly Basics

The inspiration for this next card came from US demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske. I used Dawn’s idea for the card, but changed the measurements to suit our (Australian) cardstock size and changed it a little to eliminate a layer and make it less bulky to mail.

Card: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloup, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz
Stamp Pads: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Crisp Cantaloup
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Other: Bird Builder punch, Woodgrain embossing folder, Framelits – Ovals Collection & Bitty Banners

I used the pretty Spring Flowers embossing folder for this card:

Card: Very Vanilla, Kraft
Stamp Pads: Baked Brown Sugar, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush, Cherry Cobbler, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry
Stamps: Flower Patch, Butterfly Basics
Other: Framelits – Flower Fair & Ovals Collection, Spring Flowers embossing folder, rhinestones

Traveler/Traveller

March 9, 2015

I’ve used the Traveler stamp set frequently for male cards, but I really want to spell it as “Traveller”! The US spelling just doesn’t look right, lol!

This was one of the cards from my Annual Catalogue launch last year:

Card: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Stamp Pads: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Traveler, World Map, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Other: Framelits – Squares Collection, Ticket punch

Another male card using this set:

Card: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Stamp Pads: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Traveler, Sketched Birthday
Other: Framelits – Banners & Bitty Banners, Zig Zag embossing folder

My Dad’s Father’s Day card last year:

Card: Marina Mist, Whisper White
Stamp Pads: So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Stazon – Black
Stamps: Traveler, World Map, Best Dad Ever (retired)
Other: Framelits – Ovals Collection

This card made by Canadian demo Heidi Weaver, which I saw on a Stampin’ Up! forum, inspired another card I made last year:

Card: Lost Lagoon, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Stamp Pads: Lost Lagoon, Stazon – Black
Stamps: Traveler, Work of Art, Sketched Birthday
Other: Framelits – Banners & Bitty Banners, Arrows embossing folder

Field Flowers

September 9, 2013

This card is a tent card – like a reverse easel card, I guess! These aren’t colours I use very often, but I love the way it turned out – the Pumpkin Pie frame was just was needed to bring out the colours in the flowers.

Card: Naturals Ivory, Pumpkin Pie
Stamp Pads: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Field Flowers
Other: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Framelits – Ovals, Occasions paper-piercing pack, paper-piercing tool, Dazzling Diamonds, glue dot, small button
