I’m Back at Last!

Well, I really didn’t mean to be quite so long between posts! I have finally managed to download my photos, so I will have a few to show over the next few days. You’ll have to excuse the poor lighting though – it seems it’s always raining or overcast when I’m taking photos!

Stationery Set Gift

I used a modified version of Jackie Topa’s wonderful stationery set for some special teacher gifts this year. My Stampin’ Sister, Manda, adapted the holder to suit Australian card sizes, so I used her measurements for the boxes and used up some of my retired papers and cardstock stash making the sets.

I added little 3D flowers to the boxes after I took the photos, but forgot till too late to photograph them again!

Christmas One Sheet Wonder

I love using the Christmas stamps for a One Sheet Wonder set of cards. This year I used the Tree Trimmings set and a different take on the traditional Christmas colours with Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and the lovely new In Colour Pool Party.

This time we made 9 cards and a couple of tags in the class.

Bloom Away

I used a long retired stamp set for this card I made for my kids’ Languages teachers to farewell a colleague from the Goethe Institute who is returning to Germany. It was a Goethe Institute scholarship that allowed my daughter to do a three week intensive language course in Frankfurt earlier this year – a fantastic opportunity for her!
This card was inspired by one a fellow SU! demonstrator, Kim Kilroy, posted a while ago on our demo forum (Kim doesn’t have a blog yet, but has made some lovely cards). I thought it perfect for this occasion.

Long Time Away

I have been quite busy lately, and most of it not making cards! Lots of end of year stuff, including making a dress for my daughter’s senior formal a couple of weeks ago. That involved combining two patterns and a lot of improvising to get the dress she wanted, but after (many) dramas, she was really happy with her dress. So glad we only have one daughter, at least buying a suit for a boy has to be easier (I hope!). Here’s what she looked like:

I do have a few cards to show – this is the first (I have to spread them out over a few days – can’t show them all at once!). This was my swap card for our regional training day last month; I only got time to make about twenty this year, immersed as I was in dressmaking, but I received some lovely cards in return and had a fabulous day.

One of the ‘thank you’ tags I made recently; I varied the cardstock with Naturals Ivory, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla and tied them with seam binding – Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake or Very Vanilla. Of course I didn’t think to photograph them all together!
